Cline Tops Vick for Sunset Open Title

Posted by on Tuesday, January 05, 2010 (EST)

Kaiser, Speed Advance to Semifinals

Brian Cline won his second tournament in a little more than a month, taking the $1,500 first prize Saturday (Jan. 2) at the Sunset Lanes Open in Rochester.

The 31-year-old Depew resident defeated Dan Vick, a student at RIT, 249-231, in a battle of left-handers.  Cline had advanced to the title match with a 222-150 win over Phil Kaiser of Rochester, while Vick advanced with a 214-209 win over Tony Speed of Rochester.

In November, the 31-year-old Depew resident pocketed $1,000 at the Monster Energy Drinks singles tournament in Batavia.

            The tourney attracted 96 entrants.
