KENMORE -- John Walker of Tonawanda won four straight matches Sunday to capture the 16th annual Western New York Senior Masters Tournament at Kenmore Lanes.
Walker, who entered the five-man step-ladder finals in the fourth position with an 1,180 six-game total, defeated Mike Klis of Lockport, 206-196; Ted Dennison of Lockport, 205-136; Eric Maundrell of Buffalo, 195-135, before facing top-seeded Bob Callari of Rochester in the championship match.
Callari and Walker tied 171-171 to force a two-frame rolloff. Walker edged Callari, 40-39, for the $450 first prize. Callari earned $240.
Callari was second in the three-game qualifying round with 662. He added 649 in the next round to earn the No. 1 seed with a 1,311 six-game total.
The tournament attracted 36 entries -- 16 in the 50-and-over division and 20 in the 60-and-over division
