The next TAT Tournament "Amateur Challenge" tournament will be held at the Texas Station Bowling Center in Las Vegas from July 1 thru July 9th, 2006.
The last event in February was almost sold out with over 6,000 entries and over $650,000 was dispersed, with the first 5 rounds receiving extra money as the prize fund was increased, 223 bowlers all received hundreds of extra dollars.
There will be 9 separate events with 9 separate prize funds in the next Amateur only event. All prize funds are guaranteed, For the first time a 205 and under bowler will be guaranteed to the top 5. We added an extra spot, so it wouldn’t take away from the other divisions. 1st place prize is $20,000, 2nd - $10,000, 3rd -$6,000, 4th - $5,000, and 5th - $4,000. Minimum Guaranteed of $500 for making the finals.
A single entry fee is only $260 which includes a "Free" Ebonite performance bowling ball, entries into the Chance Tournaments, 1 Qualifying Squad and a Qualifying entry into the $30,000 Ebonite Challenge Tournament, with 3 other value multiple entries available, and over 500 ways to cash.
This is truly an "amateur" tournament in which PBA or PWBA tour members within the last 10 years are ineligible. Also, anyone who has ever won a Pro Title, or regional title in last seven (7) years, including ABC Masters and WIBC Queens, cannot participate. Anyone that received $10,000 or more in a scratch single bowling event within the last seven (7) years are also ineligible. This is an excellent opportunity for "amateur" bowlers to make big bucks for a small investment. The TAT is a "Mega-Buck" type of tournament which has a 3-game qualifying by age groups and a separate 205 & under and a new division for bowlers who have bowled and not made the finals. Qualifying is by five (5) separate divisions; 3 age, Age 36 & Under, Age 37-50, Age 51 & Over, and 205 average & under. Cut scores are 1 in 9 or 10 daily in each division, or every 2 or 3 squads.
There are 17 special bonuses for Daily Leaders on Bonus Division Days which seeds the daily leader to 3rd Round and a guaranteed minimum of $800 to $1000.
Final elimination rounds will start at 1:30 pm on July 9th 2006. There are 27 qualifying squads to choose from over an 8 day period. Re-entry squads are as low as $100.
There are two (2) Chance Tournaments (CT's) which are "Free" to TAT participants. Each CT is a 2-game squad with highest single games winning the cash spots. 1st CT has $10,000 with fifty two (52) prizes and the 2nd CT has $10,000 with fifty (52) prizes. The number of free CT squads that a bowler receives depends on their tournament entry date (Everyone receives at least 1 free chance squad) Additional CT squads may be purchased for $50. All TAT returning bowlers and TAT League bowlers will receive one extra CT squad. Bowlers can cash up to 4 times in the 2 Chance Tournaments. First place in both events is $1000 and last cash is $100.
There is a special $30,000 Ebonite Challenge Tournament during the qualifying and CT squads. $5,000 1st place with the top 5 guaranteed $1,000 each, a 1 in 6 cash ratio, $100 last cash There are five (5) ways to qualify: a strike in the 3rd, 6th, and 9th frames of any 2 games will advance you to the finals. Many others will win there way to the finals in different squad bonuses. All finalist will receive a second "free" Ebonite performance bowling ball. All TAT entrants will receive one (1) free qualifying entry into the Ebonite Challenge Tournament and all re-entries are only $10.The Ebonite Challenge Finals will start at 12:00 pm on July 9, 2006.
TAT will have 3 separate sweepers on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings with a 1 in 6 cash ratio, last cash is $120. You can win up to $2,000 based upon entries.

The main TAT event is divided into five separate divisions: (strict eligibility rules are enforced): AMATEUR’S ONLY
- 205 average and under (verifiable)
- 36 years old and younger
- 37 to 50 years old
- 51 years old and older
- Returning non-qualifier
| Qualifying Format: Main Event A three game scratch qualifier for each division. 1 in 10 advances to the finals with 5 daily cuts and 4 multiple squad cuts. 3 days of 1 in 9 cut ratio, (No Single Squad Fictitious Cuts) with a GUARANTEED $500 minimum for making the finals in any division. 17 Daily Qualifying Winners advance directly to the third round and win a minimum of $800 to $1,000 each. Prizes increase each round.
Unique Finals Format: First Round (By Division) Of 5 bowlers per pair, 3 will advance. 6 bowlers 4 advance, High losing scores are added back in by divisions to keep 5 on each pair. No Byes.
Second Round: (By Division) 5 on a pair 2 Advance from each pair plus add-ins by score from each division. No Byes.
Third Round: (By Division) Of 5 bowlers per pair, 2 will advance. High losing scores are added back in to keep 5 on each pair. No Byes. Daily Winners come in. All divisions combine in Round 4. High scores added back in to keep 5 on a pair till Top 5.
