The Empire State USBC Bowling Association today announced that the 2010 State Masters Tournament will offer a $2,000 first prize.
Competition will take place on Saturday, April 3, at Mancuso Bowling Center in Batavia. Qualifying (five games) squad times are 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with head-to-head single elimination semifinals and four-person stepladder finals to follow.
ESUSBC President Mike Pettinella urged bowlers to send in their entry fees as soon as possible to avoid being shut out. There will be a maximum of 66 bowlers per squad, and bowlers will be permitted to enter once.
“As your state bowling association continues to rebound from the negative events of the past, we are committed to running tournaments that offer a solid prize fund, with reasonable entry fees, and are challenging and fair to all,” Pettinella said.
“Thanks to our sponsor, Turnbull Heating, Air Conditioning & Commercial Refrigeration of Batavia, a longtime supporter of tournament, league and junior bowling, we are able to list a $2,000 top prize for only an $85 entry fee, and also pay at a ratio of 1:5.”
A Sport lane condition will be used; lanes will be stripped and re-oiled after the first qualifying squad. One in five bowlers will advance from the entire field.
Complete tournament information can be found in the Tournaments section of this website and the entry form will be available for download at www.empirestateusbcba.org.
